Critical warning. These Terms of Service contain limitations and disclaimers designed to limit our liability. By using this app, you acknowledge and agree to them. Read them carefully. If you do not agree to any part, you must not use the app.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Banknote & Coin Identifier AI mobile application (“App”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). These Terms are a legally binding agreement between you and TQ Tech (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). The App is distributed on Google Play under package name tq.tech.banknote.

2. Description of Service

Banknote & Coin ID uses on-device capture/crop plus cloud vision models (via our Cloudflare Worker, OpenCode Zen, and OpenRouter fallback) to analyze photos of banknotes and coins and return identification, a collector-style report, condition context, and approximate value ranges. The App provides:

• Identification of banknotes and coins from a photo you take or pick
• Optional reverse-side photo for a more complete look at the item
• A written collector report (overview, details, market context, tips, design notes)
• Ask AI follow-up questions about a saved identification
• Local history and collection (favourites, grades, notes, backup export)
• Three lifetime free identifications for non-subscribers
• Optional Pro subscription: unlimited identifications (subject to a fair-use daily cap), value estimates, and the full report

The App does not determine authenticity or detect counterfeits. It does not provide professional appraisals or investment advice. There are no third-party ads in the App.

3. Subscription plans and billing

3.1 Available plans

• Weekly Pro — auto-renewing weekly access to Pro features. US list price is currently $3.99 per week. Google Play shows the price (and tax) that applies to you.
• Yearly Pro — auto-renewing annual access. US list price is currently $24.99 per year.

Prices, currencies, and taxes are set and displayed by Google Play and may change. There is no free trial unless Google Play or the in-app paywall expressly offers one at checkout.

3.2 What Pro includes

While entitlement is active, Pro unlocks unlimited identifications (subject to a server-side daily fair-use cap to stop abuse), collector value estimates, and the full condition / collector report. Free users keep History and Collection for scans they already ran.

3.3 Automatic renewal

Important: subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel before the current period ends.

• Weekly plans renew every 7 days
• Yearly plans renew every year
• Charges go to the Google account you used on Google Play
• Renewal notices and payment methods are managed by Google Play, not inside a TQ Tech billing portal

3.4 Payment processing

All payments are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not collect or store credit/debit card numbers. Subscription status may be verified through RevenueCat so the App can restore Pro on reinstall.

4. Subscription management and cancellation

4.1 How to cancel (Google Play)

1. Open the Google Play Store app
2. Tap your profile icon
3. Tap Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions
4. Select Banknote & Coin Identifier AI (or the subscription name shown)
5. Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts

You can also manage subscriptions at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.

4.2 Effect of cancellation

• Cancel anytime before the next billing date to stop the following charge
• Cancellation must be done in Google Play, not by deleting the App alone
• You typically keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for
• After that, the App returns to the free quota rules; existing local collection remains on the device

4.3 Refunds

Refunds are handled by Google Play under Google’s refund policies. Request a refund through Google Play if eligible. Uninstalling the App or emailing us does not by itself cancel billing or guarantee a refund.

4.4 Restore

Use Restore purchases in Settings (or reinstall and open the App signed into the same Google account) so Google Play / RevenueCat can re-check Pro.

5. User responsibilities and prohibited uses

5.1 Acceptable use

Use the App only for lawful, personal, educational, and informational purposes. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your device and Google account secure
• Only submitting photos you have the right to use
• Complying with currency-reproduction and photography laws in your country
• Treating every ID, grade, report, and value range as approximate
• Not relying on the App for commercial, insurance, legal, estate, or professional valuations
• Consulting qualified numismatic professionals when a real transaction depends on the result
• Understanding that AI identifications can be badly wrong

5.2 Prohibited activities

You may not:

• Use the App for any illegal purpose, including producing counterfeit currency
• Present the App as an authenticity, anti-fraud, or law-enforcement tool
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attack the App or API except as allowed by mandatory law
• Share, resell, or pool a Pro subscription to evade limits
• Automate bulk identification, scrape the API, or rotate device hashes to reset the free quota
• Circumvent rate limits, daily caps, or technical measures
• Submit malware, others’ private photos without permission, or content you do not have rights to
• Interfere with other users or our infrastructure

6. Privacy and data collection

Our Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms. It explains photos, device quota IDs, Firebase, RevenueCat, Cloudflare, OpenCode Zen, and OpenRouter. By using the App you also agree to that policy.

7. Intellectual property

The App, name, branding, UI, and documentation are owned by TQ Tech and protected by applicable IP laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial use.

You retain rights in photos you capture. You grant TQ Tech a limited license to transmit and process those photos solely to provide identification, Ask AI, quota, and related support of the service.

8. Third-party services and AI limitations

The App uses, among others:

• Cloudflare (identification API and quota/cache)
• OpenCode Zen (primary identification and Ask AI)
• OpenRouter and upstream models (fallback; may include Google Gemini, OpenAI, and others) for image analysis and chat
• RevenueCat for subscription entitlement
• Google Play for distribution and billing
• Google Firebase for analytics, crashes, performance, and remote config

Those parties have their own terms. We are not responsible for their independent conduct.

AI limitations. Models can and will make mistakes. Identifications, grades, catalogue numbers, serials, security-feature lists, reports, Ask AI answers, and USD ranges may be incomplete, outdated, or fabricated. This is an educational / informational tool — not a certified appraisal, NGC/PMG/PCGS grade, or authenticity opinion. Accuracy depends on lighting, crop, wear, language, and model error. Do not use the App for insurance, estate, court, or regulated purposes without a human expert. We have no liability for AI errors.

9. Service availability and modifications

• We aim for availability but do not guarantee uptime. Models, quotas, or the Worker may be busy or fail (“server busy”).
• We may change features, models, free-scan counts, Pro benefits, or prices (Play will show the price at purchase/renewal).
• We may suspend or discontinue the App. Pro access depends on a valid Play entitlement and a functioning backend.
• Updates may be required to keep using identification.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

10.1 Service disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TQ TECH DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT IDENTIFICATIONS ARE CORRECT, THAT VALUE RANGES REFLECT A REAL SALE, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

THE APP DOES NOT AUTHENTICATE CURRENCY AND MUST NOT BE USED TO DECIDE WHETHER A NOTE OR COIN IS GENUINE OR COUNTERFEIT.

10.2 Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES
• OUR TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR PRO THROUGH GOOGLE PLAY IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (OR USD $10 IF YOU NEVER PAID)
• WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THIRD-PARTY SERVICES, MODEL PROVIDERS, OR GOOGLE PLAY POLICIES
• YOUR USE OF THE APP IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK
• WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR RELIANCE ON IDENTIFICATIONS, REPORTS, ASK AI ANSWERS, OR VALUATIONS
• WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR PURCHASES, SALES, TRADES, INSURANCE CLAIMS, ESTATE FIGURES, AUTHENTICATION ERRORS, OR DISPUTES
• WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR DATA LOSS ON YOUR DEVICE OR FROM A FAILED BACKUP
• WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR REGULATORY ISSUES ARISING FROM HOW YOU PHOTOGRAPH OR REPRODUCE CURRENCY

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory consumer law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TQ Tech and its officers, employees, and agents from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from: (a) your use of the App; (b) your content or images; (c) your violation of these Terms or law; (d) reliance on App output; (e) disputes with buyers, sellers, or insurers; (f) AI or third-party errors.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access immediately, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms, abuse the API, or create risk to the service or other users. Upon termination:

• Your license to use the identification service ends
• You remain responsible for Play charges until you cancel there
• Local collection files stay on your device until you delete them
• Sections on IP, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, and governing law survive

13. Governing law and dispute resolution

• These Terms are governed by the laws of India, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer law of your country of residence applies
• Where enforceable, exclusive venue is the courts of competent jurisdiction in India
• You may bring non-waivable consumer claims in your country of residence
• If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time by posting an updated version at banknoteid.pages.dev/terms and updating the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also appear in the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Google Play’s terms also apply to billing.

15. Google Play additional terms

If you download the App from Google Play:

• These Terms are between you and TQ Tech only, not Google LLC
• Google is not responsible for the App or its content, support, identifications, or valuations
• Payments, renewals, and refunds are handled by Google under Google Play policy
• Google is a third-party beneficiary of the Play distribution terms to the extent required by Google

17. Severability

If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it shall be modified to the minimum extent required or severed, and the remaining provisions stay in force.

18. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and TQ Tech regarding the App and supersede prior understandings on that subject. Google Play’s terms govern your relationship with Google for purchases.

Final warning. By using this app you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. Identifications and valuations are approximate and for educational / informational purposes only. Do not rely on this app for insurance, estate, legal, authenticity, or any critical valuation. Consult professional numismatic experts when it matters. We take no responsibility for identification or valuation errors. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Continued use is acceptance of these Terms and of updates we post.
